Dark Heart Watercolour Art Print - Poisoned Rhythm
This art print is part of a 3-painting collection of poisonous plants and the part of the anatomy they affect. The series started from this painting from which the idea spiralled, and I shall definitely be continuing my dark fantasy art in this direction.

'Poisoned Rhythm' features an anatomical heart wrapped in Ryania speciosa - a poisonous plant found in South America. It produces ryanodine, which went on to name the ryanodine receptor, which I studied for my PhD and inspired this painting.
While its inception was scientific, this art print fits perfectly with a dark gothic aesthetic and would work great in a moody maximalist gallery with the deep reds and dark greens. It's also ideal for those who want something macabre but pretty at the same time and would work well in a book nook or a bookshelf of dark academia or gothic horror literature. Wherever you choose to display it, know that I am so pleased you chose my art, and particularly a piece that means so much to me.
